Björn Frantzén, the chef behind Sweden's only three-Michelin-star restaurant, Frantzén in Stockholm, is to open a new fine dining restaurant on the site of the old Restaurant André in Singapore.

Zén will open on 21 November according to the Michelin Guide, with a menu refelecting Frantzén's signature mix of Nordic, French and Asian influences.

It's the Swedish chef's third restaurant in Asia, after The Flying Elk and Frantzén's Kitchen, both in Hong Kong. The restaurant will be spread across the three storeys of the Singapore townhouse, which was vacated by chef André Chiang in February of this year

The Zén team will include former staff from San Francisco's Benu and London's Maze restaurants, according to a tweet from Bloomberg's Richard Vines, while Restaurant Frantzén's Executive Chef Marcus Jernmark will oversee operations in the opening period.

Having relocated to a larger site in Stockholm in late 2017, Restaurant Frantzén went straight in at three-Michelin-Stars in the most recent Guide to the Nordic Countries, the first restaurant in Sweden to ever hold the honour.
