Fine Dining Lovers Will Live–Stream The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, 13 June from New York (8pm EDT)

It’s almost upon us: the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016 will take place on 13 June in New York and we'll be exclusively live–streaming the event here on FineDiningLovers (at this page), so you can keep up with all the excitement on the night.

This is the first time the awards will take place in New York following 14 successful years in London since their inception in 2002. The ceremony itself will be held at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan (pictured above), with many of the world’s top chefs and gastronomes expected to attend.

The decision to relocate the World’s 50 Best Restaurants was made in recognition of the awards’ global reach. William Drew, Group Editor of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, said the organisation wanted to reflect its position as a global brand, “not just in the restaurants we celebrate, but also in the locations of the events themselves.” Drew enthused about New York, saying he was excited to be heading to “one of the planet’s most exhilarating dining destinations.”

Two awards have already been announced: Chef Alain Passard will collect The Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 and The World's Best Female Chef 2016 is Dominique Crenn. There will also be a new hospitality award this year, sponsored by Ferrari Trento, which you can read more about here.
