Have you ever wished you could quit your job and get paid to eat? Wouldn't that be a dream come true? Well, you may want to consider relocating to South Korea. That's where people are getting paid to eat in front of a webcam.

The trend has been dubbed as gastronomic voyeurism by Reuters and it's revolutionizing the culinary scene in South Korea, a country with one of the best internet connectivities in the world.

One of the rising stars of this new phenomenon is 34-year old Park Seo-yeon, who makes a killing by simply broadcasting her meals from her apartment. Her online business has become so lucrative she makes over $9,000 a month, so it was a no-brainer to quit her job at a consulting firm to pursure a full time role eating online.

Now, she spends her days laying a spread before her computer and eating it while chatting with fans for anywhere between 30 minutes to three hours. She broadcasts her meals on Afreeca TV and gets paid when she 'cashes in' the virtual balloons sent by viewers.

But why would people pay to watch her eat? Seo-yeon, who goes by the name The Diva, told Reuters some people enjoy her show "when they can't eat that much, or don't want to eat food at night or are on a diet."

The Diva also believes she's providing a service to the community. “It feels great when people say: ‘I recovered from anorexia thanks to you’ or ‘Thank you for a fun and delicious time’,” she added: “I am the woman who lives life to eat.”
