This Old Cracker Just Sold for $22,000 - But Why?

No shit, this cracker was recently sold for £15,000 ($22,000) at an auction in the UK which makes it the most expensive snack ever bought, and it didn’t even come with butter.

Why did it fetch such a monster price tag? Apparently, this very biscuit - a Spillers and Bakers Pilot cracker - was onboard the Titanic before it sunk.

We’re not even joking. The auction was held at Henry Aldridge & Son in Wiltshire, England, where there were a number of Titanic linked items up for sale.

The cracker in question was rescued from the Titanic by James Fenwick, a passenger on the Carpathia  boat which helped pick up Titanic survivors. Fenwick apparently kept the cracker inside an envelope with a note that read: "Pilot biscuit from Titanic lifeboat April 1912".

The cracker was bought by a collector in Greece - a collector who now happens to own the most expensive cracker in the world - a 22k cracker - wow!
