A restaurant owner in the US has gone viral after an emotional video he made for customers on his Facebook page was viewed over 50,000 times.
Gary Vadikin, who owns the Seasons on Main restaurant in Bloomsburg, Pennyslyvania posted the video to explain to customers that his restaurant was struggling to make a profit despite sitting in first and second position on Trip Advisor for the local area.
In the video, Vadikin said his dream of opening a restaurant had become a nightmare, that he had sold his car and stopped sleeping at night because of worries over his tax bill.
He explained this to customers in an attempt to be transparent about where the business is. “I think that a lot of my customers think that since I own a fine dining restaurant, I'm doing really well. The truth is there are some burger joints that probably make a better profit than I do.”
The kicker came from what happened after the post. The video was widely shared and posted online, and Vadikin told WNEP news station that when he woke the day after the post his phone was “ringing off the hook.”
Customers, locals and even international people have offered to help and many more people have booked a table at the restaurant.
