Despite getting slaughtered harder than the cows he fondles by local food critics for his newest place in NYC, Salt Bae - or Nusret Gökçe if you prefer to use actual names - says he will be opening a new burger restaurant in Los Angeles.
The meat man, famous for his over the top seasoning style, confirmed plans to open a new burger restaurant called, wait for it, Salt Bae - opening first in Los Angeles and then in Soho, New York.
“It won’t just be for the wealthy,” he told the New York Post, whose critic, Steve Cuozzo, described the food as “Public Rip-off No. 1" after being underwhelmed by a $500 bill.
Gökçe became famous when a video of his dramatic salt seasoning went viral online in January 2017. Since then, he has become one of the internet’s biggest social media stars with 11 million followers on Instagram and he has capitalised on the fame wherever he can.
His New York restaurant opened just last month, there’s plans for a space in London and he’s just confirmed a 4,000 square feet space for his first burger place in LA.
Amazing to think that just over one year ago, Gökçe was just a simple man with a passion for sprinkling salt. He's now a worldwide celebrity with a salt sprinkling empire.
We're not sure how you feel about the Bae, we personally prefer the Jordi Roca school of response.
