Forget Cronuts, It's Ramen Burger Time
It used to be that the only food people would stand in line for, at least for any extended period of time, was an apple, and more the shiny new iPad kind than than shiny green Granny Smith kind.
However, with food rapidly becoming one of the ultimate ways for people to express their identity, a way to show the world just how unique we are, the number of people willing to wait hours in line for a taste of the latest craze seems to be on the rise.
We've seen it with the huge Cronut queues outside Dominique Ansel's bakery in New York and more recently we've seen it with the astronomical line of people waiting to get their hands on the Ramen Burger debuted at the Smorgasburg food fair in Brooklyn.
Made as a classic burger but wrapped in fried ramen noodles, instead of the usual bread, the ramen burger was created by Keizo Shimamoto who produced 150 for the fair and sold out fast.
Word spread on social media and across the fair that Shimamoto had created a unique dish and those intent on showing off the world their hipness on Instagram rushed to join the huge line in hope of tasting the latest hybrid NYC dish.
