Queen Thanks Heston for Jubilee Picnic

The Queen of England has honored all those who helped create the celebrations for her Diamond Jubilee earlier this year.

Among those thanked by the Queen was the British chef Heston Blumenthal.

Blumenthal helped to create a picnic hamper for the Jubilee that helped around 12,000 people enjoy a picnic in the grounds of the Buckingham Palace.

Blumenthal described the event, saying: "On the day I was driving around the outside of the palace and we could see thousands of people queuing, they were queuing and lapping themselves and (all I could see was) picnic hampers."

"I was really pleased with it, it was the challenge of taking something that had an historical framework and showcasing British produce."

Hampers on the day included classic British dishes such as coronation chicken and Eton mess, cheese boards and a number of cakes.
