The Daily Meal has compiled their annual list of the United State's 50 Most Powerful People in Food. A look at the men and women who influence what we eat.
Far from the chefs who often top such lists, this top 50 focuses on the CEOs, leaders and executives of the world's largest corporations, governments and organizations that influence our food industry on a global scale.
Top of the list sits Thomas Vilsack, secretary of the United State's Department of Agriculture. He's followed by the CEOs of both Monsanto and Walmart in second and third respectively.
Among the presidents and execs are just two chefs - Jose Andres and Thomas Keller, both deemed less powerful than Pete Wells, restaurant critic at the New York Times, who ranks in at 14th on the list.

6. James P. Hoffa, General President, International Brotherhood of Teamsters
7. Patricia Woertz, Chairman, President, and CEO, Archer Daniels Midland
8. Jack Menzel, Product Managing Director, and Dan Entin, Director of Digital Product Management, and their teams, Google
9. Jeremy Stoppelman, Co-Founder and CEO, Yelp
10. David MacLennan, Chairman and CEO, Cargil
