The Observer Food Monthly annual list of the 50 Hottest Places, People and Trends in Food has been published with a really interesting collection of ideas and emerging shifts highlighted across the food industry.

From the new found gourmet treatment of kebabs, to the Normadic chef Jock Zonfrillo and Inaki Aizpitarte’s new restaurant in London, the list rounds up an epic selection of the things, people and places we should all be aware of in food.

The Cherry Bombe magazine makes the cut, wines from the Eastern Mediterranean and a famous dish of pressed duck from the French restaurant Otto’s in London.

Another interesting note is ‘lab grown produce’ - the idea that meat, eggs and milk could all be produced very soon in a lab. even replaced by viable plant based alternatives.

Daniel Patterson and Roy Choi’s Loco’l is also given a mention right near the end of the list, as the two join other chefs like Gaston Acurio in pushing for fast food made with fresh, healthy produce.
