Michelin Guide to Shanghai 2019

The 2019 Michelin Guide for Shangai has been announced with some changes seen at the top. Paul Pairet and his multi-sensory Ultraviolet restaurant retained their third Michelin star, while T'ang Court - which ranked in at three stars back in the inaugural Shanghai Michelin guide - was demoted to two stars.

The Xin Rong Ji restaurant, famous for BBQ pork served inside a paper bags, homemade sausages and jellyfish, was the only new restaurant to rank in the two star category.

A total of five new restaurants, including Il Ristorante by Niko Romito and le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire. Another one star winner was the creatively titled, Amazing Chinese Cuisine restaurant.

In total, the guide awarded 32 stars. Below is the full list of all the Michelin starred restaurants in Shanghai in the 2019 guide.
