The Michelin Guide for the Main Cities of Europe 2014 has been released with the Funky Gourmet (pictured above) restaurant in Athens awarded a two-star rating in the guide.

The big news is that the Michelin organisation will, for the first time, print a guide for the Nordic Countries, including Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. Speaking about the launch of the Nordic Countries Michelin Guide, Michael Ellis, International Director of the Michelin Guides, said: “Nordic gourmet dining features a wide variety of local produce and a cooking style that combines the best qualities and outstanding expertise of Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish cuisine.”

Following on from the new edition of the Nordic guide, Copenhagen was awarded new stars with Claus Meyer's Studio at The Standard, Marchal at D’Angleterre Hotel and the Clou restaurant all receiving a one star rating.

In Vienna, Austria, four new restaurants picked up a one star rating with Konstantin Filippou, Edvard, Vincent and Tian, a vegetarian restaurant, all receiving one star.

In total the Michelin Guide for the Main Cities of Europe 2014 features 66 new one star ratings, 10 new two star ratings and 1 new three star rating. Below is a list of all the restaurant to gain stars in the Main Cities of Europe Guide for 2014.
