If you've ever dreamed of becoming a Michelin Guide inspector, now's your chance.

The Guide is currently looking for inspectors to cover the New York area, one of the most exciting culinary beats in the world. Take a look at the most recent Michelin Guide to New York to see the kind of restaurants you'd be 'forced' to go and review.

The personal requirements are stringent: you need at least 10 years experience in a relevant field, formal wine training and a flexible calendar (you have to make a minimum of 275 restaurant visits a year). But if you think you've got what it takes, then you should apply here.

Not long ago we spoke to Rebecca Burr, editor of the Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland about just what it takes to become a Michelin inspector – Burr was an inspector herself for 12 years.
