Marcus Wareing Redesign at The Berkeley

It's been known for a while now that Marcus Wareing would be closing his restaurant within the Berkeley Hotel in London for an extensive refurbishment and Catherine Hanly at Hot Dinners has some news on what to expect when it reopens March 24th 2014.

Closing January 18th the restaurant will undergo a series of redesigns taking the 70 seater establishment to 105 seats.

The biggest news seems to be a name change with the new place called MARCUS. The designers will be from Robert Angell Design Studio who have previously worked on rooms within the hotel.

Speaking with Hot Dinners Wareing suggested a new approach in the design of the restaurant, saying: "I believe there has been a gradual but genuine evolution in what the customer is looking for in today’s fine dining offering and we are now moving away from the more formal styles of service."

There's no mention to any changes in the food but below you can see some sketches of the new design.
