Kate Middleton is preparing for the birth of her royal child with Prince William by turning up the heat in the kitchen.

Us Weekly reports the Duchess of Cambridge is taking Italian cooking lessons from her new housekeeper Antonella Fresolone, who has worked at Buckingham Palace for over a decade.

Middleton, already a pro at making roast chicken and homemade strawberry preserves, has reportedly learned a few new dishes to add to her repertoir.

We're not sure just how much cooking the future Queen of England will be doing, but we thought it'd be fun to give her a few royal cooking tips for serving up tasty Italian cuisine:

1. Master at least five easy Italian pasta recipes - this way dinner can be ready in the blink of an eye.

2. Learn the difference between prosciutto and culatello, a favorite of her father-in-law Prince Charles.

3. Discover authentic recipes for classic Italian desserts like panetonne and semifreddo.

4. Stock the pantry with Italian staples like Parmesan cheese, aged balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.

5. Watch the following video on how to make pasta dough with Italy's famous Simili Sisters.
