Julia Child was an American culinary legend who single-handedly gave home cooks the confidence to cook French food.

Her legacy has been cemented through her cooking shows, cookbooks, museum exhibits and even a Hollywood film starring Meryl Streep. But there is one tribute we never saw coming: a comic book telling her life story.

Julia Child will come alive in a 32-page comic book from Bluewater Productions under a series called Female Force series, which features women who have left their mark in this world.

''The latest issue of Female Force will transport you back in time, through Child's days in Paris where she learned to cook at Le Cordon Bleu, as she wrote her famous cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and to her days as a popular television host,'' a press release states.

Writer Michael Troy said he always had an interest in Julia Child and a fondness for ''her strange look and gentle giant demeanor.'' The comic book will be available for purchase in print and in digital form for $3.99.

Bluewater Productions is also working on an upcoming comic book starring modern-day food maven Martha Stewart.
