If film producer Phillipe Rousselet had it his way, celebrated Spanish actor Javier Bardem would play culinary genius Ferran Adrià in the upcoming El Bulli film

Rousselet told the Hollywood Reporter that the Oscar winner is an ''obvious first choice'' to play the trailblazing chef who catapulted his three Michelin-starred restaurant to worldwide fame.

There's no word yet on whether the actor will take the role so that got us thinking: if Bardem can't play Adriá, who will?

Behold our list of contenders. Each of these Hispanic actors are well known throughout Latin America and would be able to pull a Catalan accent without a problem.

Benicio del Toro

This Puerto Rican native won an Oscar for Traffic and has made a career of playing the bad guy. Perhaps he'd heat things up in the kitchen.

Gael García Bernal

This Mexican hottie rose to fame back in 2000 when he starred in the film Amores Perros. He would lend a certain sensitivity to the role of a maverick chef.

William Levy

This Cuban-American actor and model is well known for his roles in Mexican soap operas. He's crossed over to Hollywood and has become a Latin hearthrob. He'd bring looks and muscles to the stove.
