James Beard Finalists Announced - Here's the Full List

The James Beard Foundation have today released the final nominees for the 2016 awards which will be announced at the annual ceremony on May 2nd.

The awards cover a high range of different categories and encompass the diverse and bulging American dining scene, with categories for Best Restaurants, Best Chefs, Best Bakers and even an award for most Outstanding Bar Program.

For a second year, the ceremony will be held inside the Lyric Opera in Chicago with the food and beverage industries biggest players in attendance.

Acqua Panna will sponsor the prize for outstanding restaurant, with Alinea, Frasca Food & Wine, Highlands Bar and Grill, Momofuku Noodle Bar and The Spotted Pig all contenders for the award.

Best New Restaurant

A restaurant opened in the calendar year before the award will be given that already displays excellence in food, beverage, and service, and that is likely to make a significant impact in years to come.
