After months of nail-bitting suspense the winner of season 4 MasterChef America was revealed last night. Italian-born Luca Manfé was chosen as the show's first ever male winner.

Manfé, who grew up in Friuli (a region located in Norheastern Italy) beat out Natasha Crnjac from San Diego for the top prize of $250,000, a cookbook and a MasterChef trophy. For their final challenge, the cooks had to prepare a three-course meal for judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot.

"I came here from another country because America is the best place in the world," Luca said, "and now I am America's MasterChef. This is so special." The 31-year old plans to open his very own Friulian restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, according to Italian publication La Repubblica.

"Being Italian I see that there are a few Italian chefs out there, but no one hundred percent authentic like me who just came off the boat," he shared. "So for me, it was like trying to bring the traditional and classic dishes that I grew up eating and bring it to the American public because most of them they are a little bit unknown,'' Manfé told E! earlier this week at Fox's Fall Premiere party.
