Master Class, the online education platform that gives their audience a one-to-one tutorial from some of the world’s leading luminaries in fields as diverse as photography, film making, writing and cooking has added Dominique Ansel to its ranks.
Best known as the inventor of the Cronut, Ansel is among the world’s best pastry chefs and brings his passion, experience and personable style of mentoring to the Master Class audience. In a course of 17 lessons, you can learn how to make mini Madeleines, fruit tart, chocolate cake, bonbon and the perfect croissant.
With an introduction to the basics of pastry, taking you on Ansel’s own journey from a small town just north of Paris to New York and on to a global presence in London, Tokyo and LA, Dominique opens the door into his world of pastry and how, while precise and scientific, the craft also lends itself to creativity and self-expression.
Dominique is in good company on the Master Class roster and joins Gordan Ramsey, Thomas Keller, Alice Waters and Wolfgang Puck in their Culinary Arts section.
With classes from some of the world’s best-known names in the fields of writing, photography, design, film and more, you can take classes from Annie Leibovitz, Frank Gehry and Serena Williams to name just a few.
A single class costs $100 on Master Class, while just $200 will give you full access to all classes for a year. It could be just the thing for Christmas for those culturally curious friends.
