Chosen as winner of Michelle Obama's 'Apps For Healthy Kids' competition - the new app, 'Smash Your Food', encourages children and families to smash foods on screen while at the same time receiving nutritional advice on how to maintain a healthy diet.
The app takes fries, burgers and fizzy hugh sugar drinks and crushes them in HD while squeezing out facts about the contents of the food. With obesity amongst children a growing concern in America, Michelle Obama's campaign to find healthy apps asked for companies to "“develop fun and engaging software tools and games that drive children, especially tweens (ages 9-12) – directly or through their parents - to eat better and be more physically active”.
The app was selected from hundreds of applications and judged by the co-founder of Apple Computers Steve Wozniak. It costs $2.99 on the Apple App Store and is currently only available on the ipad.
