You Can Now Order Food Via Google Maps

Tech giants will seemingly do anything to keep you on their apps. Following the news that you can now order food at the touch of a button through Facebook, without leaving the app, Google has announced a similar feature for its Maps app.

When IOS users select a restaurant on Google Maps they will now be presented with a “Place an Order” (if available) button that will lead them to an appropriate delivery option. This will be on an external app, granted, but this does make the whole process of ordering food online that bit quicker.

Using the “Explore” feature, users can search for specific kinds of restaurants nearby and further narrow their search with sub categories such as "Best lunches" and "Cheap eats," according to Apple Insider. The same Google Maps update also allows users to upload photos of marked locations.

Ordering food online keeps getting quicker and quicker. Now we just need to find a way to make the agonising wait more bearable.
