A few years ago, it was nearly impossible to find food jobs online that were not related to cooking. As the food industry grew to accommodate artisans, farmers, scholars and food enthusiasts, friends Taylor Cocalis and Dorothy Neagle wanted to make it easier for foodies to find jobs in the field they were passionate about.
That is how Good Food Jobs was born. The website is a gastro-job search tool for jobs in every aspect of food – whether its growing vegetables, working on food policy, food education, gastronomic writing, and cooking. Founded in 2010, the website has hundreds of jobs and is a testament to the growing impact of the food movement.
In the founders own words, Good Food Jobs is a ‘’pursuit involving the efforts to nourish one’s own life, and the life of others.’’ The website is for American food jobs, so far, but judging by its success, it will surely inspire others.
