Parisians Get to Buy Fresh Meat Round the Clock

A French butcher has overcome strict laws on trading hours by installing their own fresh meat vending machine outside their 11th arrondissement store this week.

Florence Pouzol, owner of the Basque boucherie, L’Ami Txulette, told The Telegraph: 'The vending machine offers a selection of our products which we prepare and vacuum-pack ourselves. We wanted to give our customers an additional service when the shop is closed.”'

The machine offers everything from 250 gram steaks, pork chops, and ham through to chicken and eggs getting you out of a tight spot for dinner or a slap up breakfast, 24 hours a day.

Despite some mixed opinions on the new addition, it's not all negative. François Joly, a local resident told The Telegraph: “At first you think it’s strange, but then you realise it might be a good way to buy meat if you work late and feel like a steak when you get home.”

Whilst the meat vending machine is still something a novelty in France, Germany already has over 500 of them. However, the world leader in food vending machines remains Japan with a weird and wonderful selection of hot foods available day and night.

Check out our list of some of 10 weird and wonderful vending machines spotted around the world.
