Floating noodles, the food craze that's sweeping social media in Asia has now arrived in the US.

The highly Instagrammable trend originated at the Hana Japanese restaurant in Singapore. Now, Neptunes Raw Bar in Artesia, California is serving the mystical levitating dish, using its own garlic noodles instead of Soba or Somen, to create a kind airborne pasta dish, Eater LA reports.

The dish is on the menu at $16.99. The restaurant describes itself on Facebook as an “elegantly casual full service eatery, which specializes in serving premium seafood.”

The noodles arrive at your table like this, but you’re not actually supposed to use the chopsticks to eat them; rather, you’re given an additional fork. And if you’re wondering how it works, well sorry to disappoint, but there’s a noodle-coloured stick holding them up.

Okay so it’s a total gimmick, but fun nonetheless and a great talking point. There must be some sort of Harry Potter/noodle crossover opportunity for marketers here too right?
