Adria's elBulli Exhibition Coming to London

The elBulli exhibition, featuring a range of work from chef Ferran Adria's world famous elBulli restaurant in Spain, will be in London for three months starting July 5th.

The restaurant was five times voted number one at The World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards and for those who never had the delight to sample any of the 1,846 dishes that were invented there, the exhibition will feature a full back story of the philosophy behind some of the most famous creations.

FDL visited the exhibition in Barcelona and were lucky enough to take a guided tour with Ferran. It includes an extensive history of elBulli through pictures, old signs, contracts, even Ferran's first ever paycheck.

After taking in the history of the restaurant viewers are then taken through the philosophy of the food and the catalysts behind the work Ferran and his team, including his brother Albert, did at the restaurant. Plastasine models show how dishes were perfected and then plated perfectly every time, while a third section to the exhibition includes a whole range of cutlery, plates and custom designed serving apparatus for the some of the most magical dishes.

It's a great look at the history of a restaurant that dominated the culinary scene for years and one that, even though it closed almost two years ago, still ripples throughout the industry.

elBulli: Ferran Adrià and the Art of Food will be showcased at Somerset House from July 5th  to September 29th.
