Lots of interesting cookbooks are making headlines, from the secret cookbook of the late Hollywood director Nora Ephron to the latest cookbook by celebrity chef Rick Bayless. There is also news of Bollywood and Hollywood actors teaming up to publish a vegan recipe book.
Nora Ephron was known for her love of food. Her last film, Julie & Julia, was a testament to her passion for cooking. The LA Times reported that the foodie film director had secretely published a cookbook for her closest friends and family. Simply titled Nora's Cookbook, the book includes uncomplicated recipes and humorous tips for serving premade food - something some foodies would frown upon.
Chicago chef Rick Bayless' latest cookbook is available for preorder on Amazon. Titled Frontera: Margaritas, Guacamoles and Snacks, the book is replete with the recipes that made his Mexican restaurant Frontera Grill famous. The cookbook includes 35 recipes for margaritas and twists on old Mexican favorites like summer guacamole with grilled sweet corn and roasted jalapeños.
Last but not least, Foodista reports that the animal rights organization PETA India is working on a vegan cookbook with the help of Bollywood and Hollywood actors. The Bolly Holly Vegan Cookbok would feature vegan versions of Indian dishes beloved by Bollywood stars like Amrita Rao, Raveena Tandon, Neha Dhupia, Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha (pictured above).
