The newest three-michelin starred restaurant in the world is Cheval Blanc in Switzerland after gaining the highest accolade awarded by Michelin in their latest guide for the country.
Run by chef Peter Knogl, the restaurant sits inside the beautiful location of the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel, Switzerland. However, aside from the wonderful setting and romantic views, it’s actually the food that really catches attention at Cheval Blanc.
Knogl’s French routed haute cuisine is dazzlingly plated, bright and vivid - just like the flavours he somehow coaxes out of well know ingredients with dishes like: duck foie gras, pineapple and pepper. Roasted Atlantic turbot, chorizo and cucumber. Juicy red mullet with crispy scales, saffron, black garlic and vinaigrette of tomatoes or his artistically plated, smoked eel with beet (pictured above).
Cheval Blanc is just one of three restaurants in Switzerland to hold three stars, joining Schloss Schauenstein and Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in taking the top honour.
Below is a video that shows off some of the chefs most beautiful dishes and the location of what has to be one of the luxurious restaurants in Switzerland, maybe even the world.
