If you'd like to rub elbows with legendary French chef Alain Ducasse all you've got to do is attend a charity dinner in the Philippines on November 25th.
To be held at the Ducasse Institute Philippines, the exclusive five-course dinner is part of a charity event called Youth with a Future. Ducasse will be a guest of honor but the cooking will be overseen by chef Jérôme Lacressonnière, an instructor and consultant at the Ducasse Institute.
All proceeds will got to the Tuloy Foundation, a local organization that helps street children transform their lives.
“After learning more about the Tuloy Foundation from chef Jérôme Lacressonnière during his last visit in Manila, I was very impressed by its rich advocacy, which is to reintegrate street children into mainstream society through a comprehensive program of caring, healing and teaching,” Ducasse said in a press release. “I do believe that learning to cook is a very effective way for less fortunate people to get a job and gain access to a better life.”
Funds from the charity dinner will help provide educational scholarships to 21 culinary students who will participate in an 8-month program at the Tuloy Foundation. Upon completion, the students will train at the Ducasse Institute for two months.
Ducasse has 17 Michelin stars in 23 restaurants across nine different countries. The chef is a big proponent of culinary education across the globe.
