It may look like someone drank then crushed it, but that's not stopping Anheuser-Busch execs from launching their new bowtie-shaped Budweiser can.

The new cans will be sold in special eight-packs beginning May 6th. Why the bowtie shape? It's a trademark symbol of the Budweiser logo.

According to a company press release, the new design is the product of two-year research that began in 2010. A lot of science went into designing the cans, each of which requires a total of 16 steps to make - 10 steps to form the bottom half and another six to complete the top portion.

While Anheuser-Busch is promoting the can as ''eye-catching, trendy and easy to grip,'' critics complain the can looks like it has a dent.

Another minus? You're acutally getting less beer in this new can. A traditional Budweiser holds 12 ounces while the new bowtie can contains only 11.3 ounces of beer. It should be noted the new cans will not be replacing the traditional Budweiser beer can.
