The Geranium restaurant in Copenhagen, run by chef Rasmus Kofoed, has been voted Restaurant of the Year in Denmark by The Danish Dining Guide (Den danske Spiseguide).

Geranium was up against a number other great Danish restaurants including Noma, Kadeau and Mielcke & Hurtigkarl.

Despite opening just three years ago, Kofoed's restaurant has already received two Michelin stars, a place on The World's 50 Best Restaurants List and now the prize of Danish Restaurant of the Year.

Speaking about the award, Kofoed, who is the only chef to ever win Bronze, Silver and Gold at the Bocuse d’Or awards, said: “We are very happy to receive this award...it motivates our staff and further enhances their belief in what we do”, adding: “Geranium has rather quickly built an international reputation and we’re pleased this now goes in alliance with the belief of this jury of our home country.”
