Does access to good restaurants and healthy food dictate where you live or influence your quality of life? If so, and you live in the US, you'll probably want to check out the results of this recent survey and see how your home town or destination US city measures up.

Wallethub has compared over 180 cities across 29 key indicators, from food friendliness, including average cost of groceries to affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants to food festivals per capita.

Based on their research Portland in Oregan was ranked the best city in the US for foodies. San Francisco came in second and Miami in third, while perhaps surprisingly, New York followed up in fourth.

Portland looks like it was a steady across the key indicators, hitting the high notes for its number of craft breweries, wineries and coffee shops per capita.  While Pearl City in Hawaii was the given the lowest scoring city overall, ranking in the lowest for the fewest restaurants, coffee shops and speciality food stores.
