Do you remember the time Gordon Ramsay found enough pasta in an empty restaurant’s fridge to feed around 400 people? He probably thought he’d seen it all then.
Well, not quite. In the clip below, the horrified chef delves into a failing restaurant’s freezers to find a mountain of frozen food, the majority of which is no longer usable. There’s pasta, chicken, mouldy meatballs – you name it, it’s there, in huge quantities. Only when he lays it out on a table do we see the true extent of the food waste occurring in this restaurant’s freezers.
There’s enough food to keep the kitchen running for a year and Ramsay admits he’s never seen anything like it in his entire career. Those who work in restaurants will wince at the money simply being thrown down the drain here.
