Michelin Chef Andreas Caminada Plans Pop-Up on a Plane

The three Michelin starred chef Andreas Caminada is set to launch a rather unique restaurant pop-up on board a flight from Zurich to New York, transforming the plane from standard passenger flight to a one off dining experience like no other.

The Swiss chef will take his crew from the Schloss Schauenstein restaurant on board the flight as they prepare to wow guests with a set of specially prepared dishes.

Speaking about the plans, Caminda said: “The idea of a pop-up restaurant came out of my curiosity, i’m always keen to take new paths. And this whole project will be a real experience for me and my team, and one whose results I am very eager to see!”

There’s no news on exactly what the chef will serve, only that he will be offering creations designed specifically for the flight alongside personally selected wines.

The flight leaves Zurich on November 21st - stay tuned for more. And, although we can’t all have a Michelin meal above the clouds, what about these top on-board picnics from Heston Blumenthal and Gordon Ramsay.
