Alain Ducasse brings Le Café to London's King's Cross

London gets another high-profile opening associated with one of fine dining’s biggest names as Alain Ducasse brings his first permanent coffee boutique to King’s Cross.

Le Café will open at Coal Drops Yard, a Heatherwick Studio-designed shopping and restaurant district, adjacent to Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse. The boutique cafe and retail store will provide a range of quality blends and single-origin coffees roasted at the newly opened La Manufacture de café Alain Ducasse in Paris. Coffee drinkers in King’s Cross will now be spoilt for choice as Le Café offers coffee sourced meticulously from the very best producers all over the world.

Head Roaster at Le Café is Veda Viraswami, twice French Coffee Roasting Champion, has created in Paris a unique range of blends made of beans from Brazil, Laos and Ethiopia for espresso or Burundi, Congo, Ethiopia for filter coffee, all available in London.

Londoners can now also choose from 3 single-origin coffees each from Kenya, Costa Rica and Ethiopia; and 3 ‘cru d’exception coffees sourced in limited supply from Yemen, Panama and La Réunion, as well as cappuccinos, cold-brew coffee on tap served like draught beer.

Le Café also serve an infused cascara drink made from the dried skins of the coffee cherry, served as iced tea, hot tea, or ‘whisky style’. Highly trained ‘cafeliers’ will serve specially curated drinks and of course if guests wish to enjoy a Proustian breakfast in London, fresh madeleines baked on-site, will be available too.
