Albert Adrià, brother of the world famous chef Ferran Adrià, obviously shares his sibling's love for magic and wonderment. He has announced plans to launch something called 'frosted rain' a huge sculpture that will act as the centerpiece of his 41 Degrees restaurant in Barcelona.

Made from 20,000 crystals, images will be projected onto the piece as diners sit to eat. The idea is that the work will also manipulate sounds and then project them to diners creating a unique environment and gastronomic experience. This is all part of Albert's want to impress beyond the plate, something his brother Ferran is world famous for.

The other famous siblings of food - The Roca Brothers from El Celler de Can Roca - also have a new plan. There's is to build an igloo style space just opposite their restaurant in Girona. They will then give twelve lucky diners the opportunity to sit around a specially designed table to be served what the brothers are calling A Culinary Opera served in twelve acts.

Just this week FDL sat down with the chef Stevie Parle who talked with us about how he thinks that experience in dining is now playing a bigger role than ever in food. With this recent news from Adria and Roca it seems that Parle is not the only one to have the idea. Maybe FDL's recent piece on restaurant experience is starting to ring true...
