Almond flour is made from blanched almonds that are ground to a powdery texture. Since the skin of the nuts has been removed almond flour has a light color.
On the other hand, almond meal is prepared from almonds with their skin intact resulting in a denser, coarser product.
How To Use Almond Flour
Almond flour is perfect for recipes where a delicate flavor and crumb are appreciated, such as cakes, macarons, cookies and gluten-free brownies.
If a recipe calls for ground almonds you can substitute with almond flour.

Almond meal is ideal in recipes where texture isn’t a big issue. Think smoothies, breads or batters.

Due to their high fat content almond meal and almond flour are best kept refrigerated to prevent spoilage.
