The aim of the project was to prove what even scientists have often said: if you play symphonies and sonatas to cows, the quality of their milk will improve. That’s why, last summer, the orchestra picked up its instruments and headed off into the German countryside to play classical music at milking time, with the aim of putting the cows in a better mood.
The results of their concert – the milk produced – was bottled by a local farmer and then sold in shops: each bottle was labeled with the name of the piece of music played when it was produced. The milk produced with the help of classical music even has its own brand name: Konzert Milch.
