These Are The Only Ingredients You Need To Make Tahini

Did you know you only need two ingredients to make tahini?

This creamy sesame seed paste essential in Middle Eastern staples like hummus and baba ganoush is incredibly easy to make. All you need are sesame seeds and oil. Salt heightens the flavor of the sauce but is completely optional.

How Do You Make Tahini?

Making tahini couldn't be simpler. Here is a quick tahini recipe that will be ready in no time:

2 cups of sesame seeds
6 tablespoons of olive oil (any light oil will do)

Place the sesame seeds in a dry saute pan. Cove over medium heat until golden, stirring constantly. Allow to cool. Then grind in a food processor until you obtain a crumbly paste. Drizzle in a bit of oil to thin it out into saucy consistency. That's it!

Making The Most Of Homemade Tahini

Sesame seeds are rich in calcium, protein and a host of vitamins. So make the most of tahini by using it for thickening salad dressings, spreading on sandwiches, flavoring to stir frys and even adding a dollop to smoothies.
