The Huffington Post has listed 30 commonly mispronounced food words and how they should actually be said.
Alongside the usual suspects of Aïoli ("ay-OH-lee"; "i-OH-lee”), Croissant (“kwah-SAHN"; "KWAH-sawn"; "kruh-SAHNT”) and Bouillabaisse ("BOOL-yuh-BAYZ"; "BOOL-yuh-BEHZ") sit some you’ll find you’ve been pronouncing wrong without even realising.
Unsurprisingly lots of the ingredients on the list come from Italy with mascarpone, prosciutto and Parmesan all making the list.
If you work in food or just love to experience great food you should know how to say the names of certain ingredients and this list is a good start. We’ve listed 10 below and you can see all 30 food words on The Huffington Post.
