Here’s a nice video from chef Heston Blumenthal offering up his take on the classic American treat of Monkey Bread, a perfect dessert or breakfast treat made by dipping dough in butter - in this case a lovely cinnamon butter.
The recipe started with a simple recipes for dough which is super rich with butter, egg yolk, warm milk, sugar and vanilla.
He has a top little trick for making the caramel which is classically Heston and once that’s finished, he shows you how to make a spicy cinnamon butter for the inside of the bread. Heston also uses some chopped pecan nuts to finish the Monkey bread.
Watching him drizzle the caramel and apple sauce over the top is enough to make anyone want to give this recipe a try. Here's some more great dessert recipes.
