In recent years, Singapore has emerged as a culinary destination in Southeast Asia. So what should you eat when you visit this invigorating city-state? This infographic from the InterContinental Hotels Group offers six picks for can’t-miss dishes.

Highlights in Singapore include fish head curry, barbecued stingray and ironic dishes like the pork rib tea which doesn’t contain tea at all. Then there’s the sweet stuff: kaya toast and sugarcane juice, both of which you'll be hooked on after just one bite.

Kaya is a coconut jam that is heavenly on toast. It’s commonly enjoyed for breakfast along with a cup of tea or coffee. If you’ve never had sugarcane juice run to the nearest hawker stand and order a tall glass. You’ll love the herbal sweetness extracted from fresh sugar cane. It's also known as sugar cane water.
