As the days draw shorter, the leaves start to turn and a chill in the night air reminds us that autumn is almost here, it’s the perfect time to gear up with some fall soup recipes.

Celebrate the arrival of autumn vegetables, sweetcorn, orange pumpkins, squash and late beans; all perfect ingredients for creating a comforting bowl of soup.

Try making velvety smooth blended soups to your desired thickness or keep vegetables chunky inside a good broth. Experiment with toppings, whether you go for crunch from a selection of toasted nuts or prefer a creamy yoghurt, melted or crumbled cheese on top. Serve up warm with some toasted sourdough and good quality butter.

Make up plenty of soup per batch and freeze up in portions so you always have a homemade stand by in the freezer.

We have selected five of our favorite fall soup recipes to get you into the swing of the season from a velvety pumpkin soup to chunky and classic minestrone. It's time to gear up for autumn.
