What foods will consumers crave in 2015? Which trends will shape restaurant dining in the new year? Global marketing and public relations firm MSLGroup has pinpointed 10 food trends they think will make a big splash in 2015.
Their research indicates the top food trend of 2015 will be "real time farm-to-fork" dining. This means QR codes will continue to rise in popularity and we'll see products with ''thoughtful'' packaging reflecting farmer stories so consumers can trace every aspect of their food.
If 2014 was all about kale, vegan and gluten-free foods, next year will bring about big changes. MSLGroup predicts the most sought-after ingredients will be oysters, hot peppers and meat rubs - an interesting landscape that is sure to thrill omnivores everywhere.
Cast iron cooking will make a big comeback while 3D printed foods will continue to evolve. Perhaps the most surprising trend is that Burmese cuisine - which is a blend of Indian, Thai and Chinese cooking - will take centerstage in 2015. We can't wait!
Below you'll find a complete list of the major food trends for 2015 (which are drastically different than these recently predicted 12 food trends). What do you think? Do you agree with these predictions? Are they hit or miss? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
