All Change: Zagat Launches App, Changes Ratings

Zagat, the US–focused online restaurant guide, has just launched an app, meaning you now have a new one-stop restaurant guide at your fingertips.

The guide, physically launched in New York in 1979, features vetted reviews from thousands of serious diners across the US. The new app allows you to search for the best restaurants via cuisine or location and features include neighbourhood guides and best-of lists. Outside of the US, Zagat offers dining advice for London, Toronto and Vancouver (although links to all three are broken on their website at time of writing).

App-Friendly

The Zagat rating system has also been streamlined from a 30–point to a more app–friendly one to five points system. We wonder how the guide's existing users will react to such a sea change?

Acquired by Google in 2011, Zagat also regularly releases its 30 under 30 lists of influential foodies – check out the 30 people under 30 shaking up New York’s culinary scene in 2016.

Zagat is available for iOS via iTunes.
