Mika Tsutai is a man who designs plates and pretty funky ones at that. His series of explosive manga plates look absolutely amazing and certainly add a whole new angle to the food you serve on them.
By creating a black and white manga outline on the plates the artist allows the user to then arrange the food they choose on the plates - finishing the images and creating an animated visual.
Using the plates it would actually be quite easy to create a cartoon themed manga story using food. Has anyone told Grant Achatz and the Next team about these?
