True Blood fans have waited a long time to sink their teeth into the Cajun delicacies inspired by their favorite vampire show. Now, with the True Blood cookbook they will be able to make their own crimson sweet tea and other bayou recipes.

The HBO vampire drama just wrapped up its fifth season on Sunday. With more than 13 million viewers around the world hungry for more episodes, the True Blood: Eats, Drinks and Bites from Bon Temps cookbook should keep blood-thirsty fans busy in the kitchen until the next season airs.

True Blood is set in Louisiana and the cookbook reflects the regional cuisine. The recipes were developed by Marcelle Bienvenu, a Louisiana food columnist and cooking instructor. Ironically, Marcelle had never watched an episode before being contacted to work on the cookbook, according to the Huffington Post. With a pen in hand, she set out to watch the show and study the dishes and drinks served at the fictional Fangtasia and Merlotte's Bar and Grill.

The book is the latest cookbook inspired by television shows.  It features 85 recipes and more than 150 photos from the series. It was published by Chronicle Books and contains recipes like Tequila Moonrise, Sookie Stackhouse's What a Fried Chicken and Jessica Hamby's Chicken-Fried Love with Gravy.
