6 Billion Others is a project conceived and executed by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, in collaboration with Sybille d’Orgeval and Baptiste Rouget-Luchaire: 5,000 interviews were filmed in 75 countries by 6 directors who went in search of the “Others”.

From a Brazilian fisherman to a Chinese shopkeeper, from a German performer to an Afghan farmer, all answered the same questions about their fears, dreams, ordeals, hopes: «What have you learnt from your parents?», «What do you want to pass on to your children?», «What difficult circumstances have you been through?», «What does love mean to you?».

These are just some examples of the over fifty questions posed to the world’s inhabitants, and gathered together around several large themes: fear, love, war, home, past and future. A portrait of humanity that seeks to understand what divides us and what unites us – with food acting as the common denominator in many of the stories, assuming important symbolic connotations: from childhood memories to joy, from regret to the representation of love.

All of the stories are available on the site 6 Billion Others, but are also making the rounds of the globe in a travelling exhibition: after Paris, Shanghai, Sao Paolo and various European stops, the show is in Moscow where it will be running at the Multimedia Art Museum until 4 September.
