At first glance these plates seem to look like medal casts of bread but upon further inspection it actually become apparent that these plates actually start their life inspired by actual slices of bread.
Called Breadplates they are made from aluminum and cast from actual slices of a a loaf - in fact a full set placed side by side will make up the shape of a while loaf.
They were designed exclusively by PlatDePa for the Roca Brother's El Celler De Can Roca restaurant in Girona.
They're used to serve a range of ingredients and have a strong link to the Catalan dish of Pa Amb Tomata in which fresh tomato is rubbed on bread and finished with olive oil.
