Have you ever thought there must be a better way of having the best recipes at your fingertips without having to trawl the internet or leaf through libraries of cookbooks?

Good news is that dream could be about to become reality with a new digital subscription service for cooks that's already smashed its online Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, and being billed as the "spotify of Cookbooks."

Started by the ckbk, the database boasts 500 plus licensed books giving cooks access to over 100,000 recipes from a pool of tried, tested and edited cookbooks created by professional food writers and chefs.

So, you can discover Daniel Boulud's top recommendations like Paula Wolfert, that Raymond Blanc rates Auguste Escoffier and food scientist Harold McGee has a soft spot for Edouard de Pomiane's cooking, plus many more favourites.

For a fixed monthly fee Ckbk users will be able to search for recipes, much like searching Spotify, accessing the entire database of recipes that can also be further refined depending on style of cuisine and author etc.

Users can then save, share and connect and create personal recipe playlists through the platform, which will form a kind of online community for home cooks.

The project's official launch in the autumn, but in the meantime, you can subscribe to their crowdfunding campaign.
